RESSTENDE took part in the project of the new futuristic building of the Muse – the Trento Science Museum, designed by the RENZO PIANO RPBW architecture studio. The installation of the sunshades took place within the area dedicated to the offices of the MUSEO MUSE DI TRENTO to correct and improve the perceived and environmental comfort with a view to the well-being in the office world. The areas subject to solar shading were the open spaces and the administrative offices, the communication department, the directorate and training divisions.
FOCUS ON THE PROJECT
Resstende has installed 24 roller systems in the BOSTON 110 model combined with the TRACTION KIT 55 system, as an exclusive forced traction device designed to give effective tension to the fabric in vertical and horizontal applications. The Boston model is specifically designed for applications on façades, with the aim of making the sunshade an integral part of the building’s architecture. The CT110 headbox is made of extruded aluminium, with all systems being motorised and mounted on a structure of wooden beams inclined at 50° by means of custom plates.
The screens within the building cover different heights: starting from the 2 metres of the administrative offices, reaching over six metres within the open space that extends across the double height. In the latter case, the converging binds each cover three metres in height. The elegance of steel exalts the wood of the existing beams without invading the space but adapting with refinement.
To ensure minimum environmental and architectural impact, the coupling points were created without making any extra holes in the wooden beams. In addition, electrical connections were made, able to impact as little as possible on an aesthetic level, along with special brackets to connect all the blinds.
THE FABRIC: SUNSCREEN SATINÉ 5501
The fabric chosen for the realisation of the blinds is Sunscreen Satiné 5501 by Mermet, comprised of 42% fibreglass and 58% PVC, with a thickness of 0.55 mm and a weight of 450 g/m2.
The openness factor of the fabric utilised is quite low (1%), thus being able to drastically reduce the glare generated by the points of direct light, which the automated slats already present on the glass cannot completely counteract. This also renders it possible to consistently reduce the temperatures within the building, isolating the heat between the external impact point (the slats) and the fabric, installed internally. The awning thus becomes an additional source of passive cooling and a passive energy saving solution which thus also reduces costs.

PALACONGRESSI IN RIMINI HOSTS THE 2020 EDITION OF HOSPITALITY DAY – an intensive day of meetings and dialogues between experts in the hotel industry in all its facets.
FOR RESSTENDE, THE EXCHANGE OF IDEAS IS AT THE CENTRE OF ITS PHILOSOPHY. For this reason, the company based in Agrate set up a DEDICATED SPACE IN THE MATCHING D-38 AREA. The aim of Hospitality Day is to increase the exchange of ideas and to implement constructive dialogue between professionals in the sector specialised in the most diverse branches, including design, the management of new digital technologies, the use of social media and the latest visionary achievements.
This is a unique opportunity to meet both from a business perspective and in terms of the creation of strong commercial ties, as well as for the sharing of ideas and experiences in order to broaden visions and to be inspired.
The Agrate Brianza-based company will participate in the prestigious event organised by the publishing group “The Plan”. THE FORUM PERSPECTIVE EU, WHICH WILL TAKE PLACE BETWEEN 11TH AND 13TH OCTOBER IN THE EXCLUSIVE FRAMEWORK OF THE EXCELSIOR HOTEL AT LIDO DI VENEZIA, IS ONE OF THE MOST ANTICIPATED EVENTS OF THE YEAR FOR PROFESSIONALS WHO GRAVITATE AROUND THE WORLD OF ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN.
Throughout several editions, Resstende has joined with active participation in the Forum Perspective EU. FOR THE 2020 EDITION, THE INTERVENTION OF THE MANAGING DIRECTOR FABIO GASPARINI AND THE PROJECT MANAGER ANGELO FURIA ARE ENVISAGED. The two will present to the audience the philosophy that guides the development and implementation process of Resstende sunshade systems, according to which the project must be integrated into the overall architectural vision whilst the shading system must become an integral part of the building.
AMONGST THE ABSOLUTE INNOVATIONS IS THE PROJECT FOR THE PRESTIGIOUS HOTEL DEI CAVALIERI IN MILAN, which has undergone comprehensive restoration. Resstende has created a completely custom-made system to protect the terrace on the 10th floor with a cantilevered glass roof. 90 sunshade systems were installed, designed to dialogue both with the innovative components of the One Works project and with the historicity inherent in the building, a historic Milanese hotel built by Emilio Lancia in 1949.
THE FORUM PERSPECTIVE EU IS CONFIRMED AS ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT EVENTS FOR RESSTENDE, AS A SOURCE OF DIALOGUE AND DISCUSSION WITH THE MOST COMMONLY-MENTIONED ARCHITECTURE, ENGINEERING AND DESIGN STUDIOS AT A NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LEVEL.
Resstende has signed on to an extremely contemporary and innovative project to protect the entrance to the new headquarters of NABA, the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome. Ten horizontal roller systems create a dialogue of shapes, light, shadows and colours.
IN THE PARTICULAR CONTEXT OF NABA, WHERE THE VISION OF THE FUTURE IS PRESENT AND CONCRETISES IN THE HANDS OF THE STUDENTS, IT WAS NECESSARY TO CREATE A SUNSHADE SUITABLE FOR THE LONG CORRIDOR THAT LEADS TO THE ENTRANCE SO AS TO CREATE A COOL AND SHADED AREA. A total of ten horizontal roller systems have been installed, five on each side of the corridor. The covering extends across an overall width of over 11 metres and a depth exceeding 16 metres.
THE MODEL SELECTED FOR THIS INSTALLATION IS THE DALLAS 135 SYSTEM, being elegant and motorised, with an exclusive design and high technical content. THE ROUND CT 135 HEADBOX IN EXTRUDED ALUMINIUM, is composed of a fixed part and a movable part that can be inspected for any maintenance of the shade. The structure was made in a LIGHT GREY COLOUR – RAL 7035, with cables and brackets in stainless steel. To overcome the difficulties deriving from the extensive dimensions of the project and to guarantee the best sealing of the panels, THE DALLAS SYSTEMS HAVE BEEN ENRICHED WITH THE EXCLUSIVE CONVERGENT TRACTION KIT 75, for the junction between the hem bars at the centre of the corridor.
Hence, when the sunshades are open, inimitable plays of light and shadow are created, mutating throughout the day and giving life to the new space. HERE, THE COLOUR BECOMES AS IMPORTANT AS THE EXTENT OF THE SPACES. Neat lines and clean geometry for contemporary architecture that borrows from the past whilst innovating in a solution that integrates perfectly into the local context.
VUSCREEN CATANIA FABRIC, CARAMEL/GREY COLOUR – CODE 31957. The double-textile weave ensures that the fabric actively interacts with the sun’s rays and with the viewer’s position: the sunshades come in different colours, being almost magic, with the effect depending on whether they are viewed looking out from the classrooms on the upper floors or along the corridor of the Campus.
System: 10 Dallas 135 with Ø85 roller and converging horizontal Traction Kit 75. Motor-operated. Structure colour RAL 7035 light grey. Structure, cables and brackets in stainless steel

The website dedicated to Resstende Shanghai Noosa has recently been published at http://www.resstende.com.cn/, with pages that users can easily scroll through in either of the two languages – Chinese and English – to reach the local public.
One year after its inauguration, the eastern branch has already demonstrated its strategic importance as a cultural bridge and starting point for operations in the China and throughout the Far East.
RESSTENDE SHANGHAI NOOSA continues its growth with the opening of a new digital channel in the local language, designed to facilitate direct communication with local clients. The dedication of KENZO TAMADA, China Branch Director and of the entire team he oversees has made dizzying growth possible, not to mention the reopening in record time following the lockdown in the Asian country.
Never standing still, always thinking about the future – RESSTENDE INTRODUCES A NEW FABRIC IN THE INTERIOR PRODUCTS CATALOGUE. Soltis Touch is the name given to the new product set to become part of the vast Resstende range, combining the qualities of the products designed for interiors and the sophisticated characteristics of the technical fabrics.
Resstende – a company that has always been a leader in the sector of blackout and shading roller shutters – is ready to return to the international scene, bringing with it the know-how typical of Made in Italy production.
BETWEEN 22nd AND 24th SEPTEMBER 2020, RESSTENDE WILL BE THE PROTAGONIST OF ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT FAIRS IN THE CONTRACT SECTOR, BEING THE BIG 5 CONSTRUCT TO BE HELD IN CAIRO, EGYPT. The country is at the heart of an unprecedented urban development and enjoys the benefits of a very strong expansion in terms of mega-projects in the area of the capital but also the construction of entire tourist and residential compounds all along the coastline, from that facing the Mediterranean to the extents bathed by the Red Sea. Great opportunities for the Italian company based in Brianza are to be seized thanks to the participation in these grandiose projects.
MADE IN ITALY IS ONE OF THE MOST SOUGHT-AFTER QUALITIES FOR INTERNATIONAL CONTRACTORS because it is synonymous with precision in researching the product and attention to every detail of the design and production. Resstende perfectly embodies all these characteristics and goes even further, thanks to the exclusive and custom-made service offered to the architects and contractors with whom it collaborates.
«The blackout systems are not to be understood as blinds applied to the windows but as an integral part of the structure and of the overall architectural project. This is the thinking that drives us to work closely with world-renowned architects and, thus, to participate in an international meeting of such high value as the Big 5 next September. We are eager to discover the next challenges that await us,” comments RICCARDO GASPARINI, Managing Director of Resstende..
The fabric of a sunshade becomes an integral part of the entire system. The colour, texture and composition of the fabric together contribute to the overall success of the project. In this sense, technical fabrics are able to overcome historic barriers dictated by the characteristics of natural fibres to obtain enviable results.
RESSTENDE RECOMMENDS ITS CUSTOMERS PAY ABSOLUTE ATTENTION TO THE SPECIFIC CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CHOSEN FABRICS. Depending on the use of the context in which the sunshades will be inserted, it may be necessary to favour fireproof fabrics, perfect for the kitchen area, for example. It may come as a surprise but if the aim is to achieve a significant shield against the sun’s rays, focusing on dark fabrics tending towards black is ideal. IN FACT, THE DYE HAS A SIGNIFICANT INFLUENCE ON THE PERFORMANCE OF THE FABRIC.
It is therefore necessary to study the project thoroughly to find the right balance between visual comfort, design, functionality and the degree of shielding from sunlight. One solution can be the use of Linum, an innovative textile from the Teknik collection, as a décor fabric designed to wisely combine aesthetics and functionality.
Linum is a Class 1 fireproof shading fabric with zero toxicity, able to be combined with all indoor systems without side channels and contained in the 2018 Resstende price list. THE COMPOSITION OF THE FABRIC, 100% POLYESTER FR, IMITATES THE STRUCTURE OF NATURAL LINEN TO THUS PRESERVE ITS AESTHETIC CHARACTERISTICS BY EVOKING A SENSE OF NATURALITY.
Available in different shades reminiscent of the earth and the elements of nature, LINUM IS AN EXCELLENT ALLY.
LEED®, as the acronym for “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design”, is one of the most important certifications in the field of eco-friendliness existing in Italy today. RESSTENDE BENEFITS FROM OBTAINING NUMEROUS CREDITS REGARDING ITS TOP PRODUCTS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO THE LEED® AIMS.
The calculation of credits is the result of an activity called MAPPING, carried out by a LEED AP professional technician and expressed in a document that can refer to a single product or a family of products. Thanks to the careful analyses carried out by QualityNet Srl and the evaluation scale generated, THE PRODUCTS OF THE COMPANY BASED IN AGRATE BRIANZA CAN BE USED IN THE CONTEXT OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF LEED®-CERTIFIED SUSTAINABLE BUILDINGS.
But the benefits don’t end there … RESSTENDE MAY DIGITALLY AND PHYSICALLY APPLY THE ASSIGNED GREENITOP® PRODUCT BADGE on the packaging of its products to immediately identify the company as the ideal partner for constructing sustainable buildings. THE BADGE DIRECTLY INDICATES THE CREDITS THAT THE COMPANY CAN CONTRIBUTE TO GUARANTEEING THROUGH THE SUPPLY OF ITS PRODUCTS, in accordance with the LEED® guidelines.
«We are thrilled to have achieved this result, as a sign that communicates the strength of Resstende and confirms that our gaze is fixed ever onwards and upwards, both in terms of product quality and sustainability», comments RICCARDO GASPARINI, MANAGING DIRECTOR OF RESSTENDE.
