The Lambertini Castle in Poggio Renatico, Ferrara, is once again a landmark for the community, blending history with modernity. As part of the extensive restoration and recovery of the manor, Resstende contributed by designing, manufacturing, and installing 83 custom-made external roller blinds guided by stainless steel cables and 54 specially designed fixed screens, all in harmony with the architectural context.
The original solar shading, traditional “Ferrarese” style package curtains, were reinterpreted using advanced technologies and innovative materials. The installed blind models, including L1 504, L1 505, L1 511, and L1 512, feature C91 and C104 cassettes in painted RAL 3016 amaranth red aluminum, combined with Soltis 92 Perform fabric in brick red (code 38180). This flame-retardant fabric has an opening factor of 4%, perfectly complementing the blind’s structure and providing a durable, weather-resistant technological solution with excellent energy performance to reduce aesthetic impact and maintenance costs.
A further unique feature of the installed roller blinds is their fixing system, which varies depending on the location. Some blinds are fixed directly to the floor, while others are attached to a balustrade using a railing equipped with a customized plate to which the cable tensioner barrel is anchored. This solution was specifically designed to meet the aesthetic and structural requirements of the castle, ensuring stability and tensioning of the fabric.
Another distinctive detail concerns the 54 fixed screens placed above the roller blinds, designed to shade the upper pointed arch section that characterizes the castle’s facade. This detail ensures complete solar protection while respecting the geometry of the windows.
The installed shading systems not only enhance the building’s aesthetic appeal but also help improve its energy efficiency. The motorized and fixed roller systems ensure optimal control of light and heat, meeting the comfort needs of the castle’s multifunctional spaces, which now house offices, cultural venues, exhibition areas, and community services.
The municipal administration’s choice of Resstende was driven by the company’s ability to combine technical tailoring with a focus on the region’s cultural values.
The Lambertini Castle restoration project is a prime example of how technology can support the recovery of historical heritage, making it more accessible and sustainable for future generations.
