China is now one of the most dynamic and strategic international markets for Resstende. It is a market characterised by rapid development, a strong focus on innovation and extremely demanding quality standards – a context that has supported the company’s growth both technologically and organisationally.

We spoke with Riccardo Gasparini, Managing Director, and Joris Biffi, Export Manager, to understand how Resstende’s presence in the country has evolved, which projects are currently underway and what prospects lie ahead.

What role does China play today in Resstende’s international strategy?

Riccardo Gasparini: Over the past few years, China has become one of Resstende’s most important markets. It is an enormous country, developing at an extraordinary pace and with a strong focus on innovation, where new projects and opportunities are constantly emerging. For us, it has been a major challenge, but also an important driver of growth.

The Chinese market is highly demanding: it requires quality, the ability to innovate and increasingly advanced solutions. This has pushed us to improve our design capabilities, invest in research and develop products able to meet increasingly sophisticated requirements.

Engaging with such a dynamic market has allowed us to grow as a company and establish ourselves as a credible and competitive player on the international stage.

Joris Biffi, is this evolution also reflected in the projects you are working on?

Joris Biffi: Absolutely. The landmark project in our journey has been the JNBY Project in Hangzhou, designed by RPBW, which marked our entry into the Chinese market.

This was followed by major projects such as the Huawei Store in Shanghai, the UPPAC project, for which we developed a fully customised system with a motor separate from the roller, and the Guangzhou Huijing New City residential complex.

Today, we are working on other equally significant projects, including the 16 WXL towers in Shenzhen, where we developed a customised ZIP solution, Qianjiang University in Hangzhou, the new DJI Drone headquarters, the Moon Lake project in Shanghai, and numerous other initiatives currently under development.

In such a competitive market, what are the factors that enable Resstende to stand out?

Riccardo Gasparini: I believe our strength lies in the combination of experience and the ability to innovate. Resstende has more than fifty years of history and know-how behind it – an asset that allows us to approach every project with expertise and reliability.

It is precisely this balance between tradition and innovation that gives value to Made in Italy. In a demanding market such as China, being recognised as a reliable partner means demonstrating quality, flexibility and responsiveness to customer requirements every day. These are the elements that have enabled us to build strong relationships and establish ourselves as a credible supplier in an international context.

What are Chinese architects, designers and clients looking for?

Joris Biffi: The Chinese market offers an enormous range of solutions and products, which is precisely why quality becomes a decisive factor. Designers are not simply looking for the solution that best meets their requirements: they examine every component of the system in detail, compare performance, assess the possibility of customising the product and evaluate the supplier’s ability to guarantee correct installation and efficient after-sales service.

These are the aspects that make the difference and enable Resstende to remain competitive even in a complex market such as China.

How important is collaboration with local partners?

Joris Biffi: It is essential. In China, every project is genuinely managed jointly with our local partner. This applies not only to the implementation phase, but also to the commercial side and, above all, to after-sales service, which needs to be fast, appropriate and effective.

Relying exclusively on our own commercial approach would be counterproductive: knowledge of the local market is an essential asset when it comes to developing long-term relationships and successfully delivering complex projects.

Riccardo Gasparini, looking ahead, what are the prospects for further development?

We look to the coming years with great confidence. Over the years, we have built a very strong relationship with our local partner, who continues to grow and invest alongside us, sharing our vision and recognising the value of Resstende.

This collaboration enables us to approach new challenges with ambition and further consolidate our presence in the country. We can rely on a multicultural team that brings together different skills, experiences and perspectives. It is precisely this continuous exchange that allows us to develop innovative solutions and respond quickly to market needs.

Our goal is to continue growing together, offering an increasingly comprehensive service while maintaining the values of quality, reliability and customer focus that have always distinguished Resstende.
